In a letter on 5 july 1918 to the ministry of information, nash announced designs for a work entitled 'howitzer battery firing' (possibly this work). 'a howitzer firing' was a commission from the ministry of information and was listed as complete on 15 july 1918. Image: a howitzer sited under a camouflaged awning, manned by four soldiers, fires into the distance. The gun itself is also painted with a camouflage scheme. Date: 1918 (First World War).
