Piracy of plate viii of hogarth's rake's progress with considerable differences: a scene in bedlam with tom half-naked, raving and with chained wrists, his shoulders held up by a clergyman, one warder holding down his leg whilst another attaches a manacle; sarah young fainting away to right, attended by a woman and a horrified man applying smelling salts; in the background and to left, other inmates; early impression. 1735 etching.
