"charles beaubrun was trained by his uncle louis beaubrun, an important portrait painter under louis xiii. Thanks to him, he was quickly admitted to the court, as was his cousin henri with whom he often collaborated. The two young artists were supported in their beginnings by anne of austria then by marie thérèse. In 1648, the two cousins were among the founding members of the academy, of which they assumed the role of treasurer until their deaths. Their workshop had become over time a real salon where high-ranking personalities and beautiful minds rubbed shoulders. The names of charles and henri beaubrun are often inseparable. It is difficult to discern the hand of one rather than the other on the few works given to them. As a result, it was customary to attribute the portraits to them jointly. Date: mid 17th century. Dimensions: height: 138 cm (54.3 in); width: 108 cm (42.5 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Unidentified location. Beaubrun - Portrait of a young woman with a flower bouquet
