Watercolor showing a baby bird on the ground (snow?) in a gray weather. The image, here reproduced by the "revue illustrée" (impr. Fraeger and lesieur) is entitled "solitude", by hector giacomelli (1822-1904). This drawer/painter (who was also an art collector) is considered one of the best illustrators of his time for birds and certain floral and naturalistic motifs (micro-landscapes. . ). Date: fin du 19ème siècle probablement.
