Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-03-06) letter no. 232 (1944-03-09) next letter (1944-03-11) envelope: front back text [they] asked in the company who would be interested in doing this, and of course i signed up straight away. I was supposed to be sent to the front on friday, but because i signed up for this course i was put on hold. So, uncalled, good luck! i don’t know how it will turn out, nor how long it will take, but it’s a lot better than outside. But four weeks in any case! so, my mum, be happy with me that i’ve won something again. I’ll probably stay in blankenburg, just a different barracks. I’ll write you the new address straight away. The mail from the regenstein barracks will be forwarded. All the best to you, my mum, from the bottom of my heart, kisses, your hansl. Date: 9 March 1944.
