this plate would belong to the album of thomas shotter boys composed of 25 plates and entitled "picturesque architecture in paris, ghent, antwerp, rouen, etc. ", published in 1839 and printed by charles joseph hullmandel. It was tristan de salazar who had the hôtel de sens built between 1475 and 1519. Marguerite de valois, nicknamed queen margot, whose marriage to henri iv was declared void in 1599 by the church, resided there from 1605 to 1606. The hotel is classified as a historic monument in the 1862 list[1]. Since 1961, it has housed the forney library, devoted to fine arts (architecture, painting, sculpture, drawing, engraving), decorative arts (ceramics, costumes, ironwork, furniture, goldsmithing, tapestry, glassware, stained glass) and crafts and techniques (building, carpentry, advertising, textiles, typography). It also brings together several services such as the iconographic collection, more than a million old and new postcards on many themes, prints, slides and wallpapers; the special funds service which brings together all the exhibition catalogs for sale in france and foreign countries and the periodicals service which concerns all magazines from their creation to our time (all styles, and in different languages).
