My beloved mother! it is now 11 a. M. And i have just come from trench control. I quickly toasted a couple of slices of bread, put a little margarine on them and powdered sugar. It tastes almost like cake. Almost all the soldiers in the east toast bread in the bunker ovens. After eating i deloused myself a bit - yes, the lovely little creatures are back again! but tomorrow i'm going to the sauna again for a nice warm wash and delousing. I'm already dreading the walk - it's an hour and a half walk and the paths are all covered in snow.
