this scene takes place during a popular ball. In the foreground, four couples dance a wild waltz. The protagonists have human silhouettes but animal heads. With their disparate clothes and their burlesque gestures, they form a comical troupe. There are two toads, a monkey and a giraffe, a dog paired with a heron and finally a goat dancing with an ox.
