US Navy 000722-N-5329L-022 U.S. Navy Master Divers preparing for dive

Cape hatteras, nc. (jul. 22, 2000) -- master chief machinist's mate master diver russell mallet (left) and senior chief boatswain's mate master diver kenneth brown (right) assigned to mobile diving and salvage unit two (mdsu-2), prepare to make a dive on the wreck of uss monitor. Additionally, this dive will help certify a new navy diving apparatus the "exo-vrms" for mixed gas diving operations. Mdsu-2 is supporting the national oceanographic and atmospheric administration (noaa) in the long-term preservation of the civil war ship uss monitor. U. S.
