Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-05-30) letter 251 (1944-06-02) next letter (1944-06-05) envelope: front back text today i'm on guard duty in the barracks again, which is a good thing because it's raining outside again. I'm also enclosing three pictures in the letter; they were taken here at the training course and turned out quite well. The boy standing next to me is herbert giese, who i already told you about and who we are always together. The other picture during dinner was taken without my knowing about it; it's a typical picture of the army. Please put these pictures with the others and keep them; they're always a nice memory. Now, my mother, some more big news. I already wrote to you that i might have something else in mind after the course. This is probably something different to what you think, but maybe not a bad thing. I wanted to write to you about it later, but since the course is now coming to an end and [you are probably already worried about what will happen next, i want to tell you now. ]. Date: 2 June 1944.
