Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 428, 29 September 1917

428. Tombstone with crosses in the cemeteries of the village. Kalnabuchak, northern dobruja. Double monument - male and female, carved from white soft limestone. The upper wall of the plate has three round holes - wine racks. The left part is the male monument. His face is surrounded by a frieze of zigzag engraved ornament; the other part - the female monument - is surrounded with a similar ornament, but there the ornament curves in a semicircle. On the face of the first monument is carved a four-winged cross, decorated all around with an engraved line; three such crosses (the central large one and the side small ones) are also made on the right part - the female one. On the faces of both parts are engraved the monograms of jesus] christ, inscription and date. Plate dimensions: 80x57x18 cm. Sketched on 29. 1x. 1917 (t. 9, obr. 63. ). Date: 29 September 1917.
