Near the fire on the left, five pots: one bears the inscription "fricassee" and leaves d'argout's nose protruding on which reads "beaux-arts". The second bears the bishop's miter on its lid: it is talleyrand's pot. It is decorated with fleur de lys, the inscriptions “93”, “salmis”. One sheet of “protocol // 10750” and one sheet of “protocol // 1024”. Exceed. She rests on one foot wearing an old-fashioned shoe and on a crutch. The one behind features the eye of cyclops barthe and contains “carbon” and “pocket eyes” (mixture between “eggs” and “eyes”). The fourth has a marshal's epaulet and a candle. This is the soult pot. It contains “farts // from // nun”. Finally, the last contains “cabbage // crust // from alsace” (humann pot). The fire in the center is used to burn the newspapers opposing the regime, whose titles we can guess: “la tribune”, “le courrier franca […] [french]”, “la caricatur […] [caricature]”, “le national” and “bon sens”. Other hot pots: one contains “bouillon //de // mou // ton” and its lid is in the shape of an clyster syringe: this is the lobau pot. Dupin's is next to it, with a magistrate's headdress on top, and the famous shoes. It contains the “stuffing // with // big // salt”. Finally, the “doctrine” book is placed on the lid of the last one, containing the “legitimity // quasi // consommee // canape // aux // anchovies”: this is guizot’s pot. At the bottom right, two stones on which are engraved the dates of the glorious three “27. 28. 29. ”. Next to it is a “froma […] [cheese] // [?] hollan […] [hollande]”. On the shelf hanging on the wall: a vial of “creme // rosolin” (an allusion to the duke of orléans), a pot of “liberté // en // compote”, a brioche. Next to it hang from a hook several sheets: the “program // august // 1830” and the text of “marseillaise”, sheets which are intended to be sold like old paper. Finally, on the table at the back on the left, some foodstuffs: a large pickle (duke of orléans), a hanging chicken (the republican rooster killed), pears in a bowl and an enormous lump of butter (“good beurre”) wrapped in the paper of the “civil list” at “18,000000” francs. Iconographic description:
louis-philippe from behind in a kitchen, holding a saucepan in his hands crossed behind his back. On the back wall his shadow is projected, which is none other than pear-shaped. Around him, food and pots. The explanation specifies that these pots “mean that the servants of the republic, the empire and the restoration, have raised their stew spilled by the people”.
