From a series of probably 14 central panels for the altars in the church of the former dominican monastery in cölln, which joachim ii had consecrated as a burial place and collegiate church. The side panels of these altars no longer exist; designed and conceived by cranach the elder, with his snake signature. Executed, however, by his son and employees of the workshop; the furnishings of the halle cathedral probably served as a model. Date: 1537. Dimensions: height: 149.3 cm (58.7 in); width: 113.3 cm (44.6 in). Medium: oil on linden wood. Collection: Jagdschloss Grunewald. 1537 Cranach d.Ä. Kreuztragung Jagdschloss Grunewald anagoria
