Lady elizabeth conyngham (1799–1839) was the daughter of henry conyngham, 1st marquess conyngham and elizabeth conyngham, marchioness conyngham. She married lord strathavon (eldest son of the 5th earl of aboyne), who became earl of aboyne in 1836 when his father became marquess of huntley. She died before her father-in-law, so was never marchioness of huntly, remaining countess of aboyne. This portrait of lady elizabeth conyngham is frequently misidentified as one of her mother, who would have been more than 50 years old (and was countess conyngham) when it was painted. It is also sometimes confused with another painting in the calouste gulbenkian by gainsborough, of mrs. Lowndes-stone. Object Type: painting. Genre: portrait. Date: between 1821 and 1824. Dimensions: height: 91 cm (35.8 in); width: 71 cm (27.9 in). Medium: oil on canvas. Depicted People: Lady Elizabeth Henrietta Conyngham. Collection: Calouste Gulbenkian Museum. Thomas Lawrence, Portrait of Lady Elizabeth Conyngham (1821–1824, WGA12516)
