Both dancers are costumed in the directoire style of ca. 1800. Pavlova wears a deep poke bonnet tied under the chin with a long ribbon, chemise gown with a train gathered up and attached to the left wrist. Volinin wears high-waisted breeches, coat with wide lapels. Unnumbered impression from an edition of 200, with 14 trial proofs.
