Charles c. Wood taylor known in chile as carlos wood taylor (liverpool, april 25, 1792 - † london, february 19, 1856) british painter, engineer, sailor and military man who settled in chile. He designed the national shield of chile, adopted by the government in 1834, incorporating the huemul and the condor. He also designed the first seals of the nascent state. He is considered one of the foreign artists who most influenced the configuration of modern chilean painting. Date: 19th century.
