He was living in john street off tottenham court road in 1787. Case of mahogany inlaid with various woods and surmounted by a broken pediment and urn. The front of the case, which is decorated with oval marquetry, is a replacement for the original decoration of traditional metal pipes. The instrument is inscribed above the keyboard: england and son londini fecit 1790. The keyboard compass is made up of fifty-four notes and is drawn towards the player when the instrument is opened for playing. Is i pushed in like a drawer before closing the front of the instrument. A ‘nag’s-head’ swell device is provided in the form of a pedal-operated lid on the top of the case.
