A F de Prades 1854 Sir Briggs, horse of Lord Tredegar, Alfred Frank de Prades, 24 October 1854

Briggs was ridden in the battle of balaclava during the crimean war on 25 october, 1854, specifically in the famous "charge of the light brigade". He was so beloved by his owner, charles morgan, baron tredegar, that he 'knighted' the horse and was subsequently known as "sir briggs". Date: 24 October 1854.
