Taken from a set of illustrations from the designs of leon bakst for the sleeping princess which were originally published by ben brothers in 1923, this illustration is labelled planche xxv: 'décor de la poussée des lilas. It shows the outline of small figure with a wide skirted purple and white dress (probably the lilac fairy). This figure is dwarfed by the the violet and green paint strokes surrounding it, and convey the impression of a vast landscape filled with large sprays of lilacs. Harry beard collection. Date: 1921.
