Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1944-05-25) letter no. 250 (1944-05-27) next letter (1944-05-30) envelope: front back text blankenburg, may 27, 1944. My beloved mum! your lovely letter of may 24th has arrived. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for it, but what have you put into it again? you don't even need these things. Thank you again for the money and stamps. You write that the planes are here so often, so mum, it's not that bad, at the moment we haven't had an alarm for three days. But that's mainly down to the weather; up until now, since my holiday, the weather has been really crappy, always raining and freezing cold. Today it's gotten a bit better. I heard on the radio that they were here again, i hope they leave the town alone! is it true that rose hill was bombed? well, let's hope for the best. Date: 27 May 1944.
