the explanation (p. 347) specifies that "plate 88 therefore represents the 'charivari that his constituents, or, failing that, his conscience, prepare for each of these deputies who have harnessed themselves to the ministerial chariot. '" a group of monstrous and grotesque characters, behind whom the ministers hide, engages in a din. We recognize there, for example, lobau on the left under the appearance of a frog drinking from a syringe, persil dte as a devil with a saw. Other characters: one, as a devil, holds a key (dupin?), another plays music by tapping on a basin and bells (barthe?), thiers probably playing the bellows a character wearing a phrygian cap shakes a bell, helped by a diabolical character. . .
