It was commissioned from the spanish painter by the community of that country residing in chile, on the occasion of the fourth centenary of the founding of santiago. On the left side there is a note that says “i think this is how pedro de valdivia was. ” zuloaga, of great international value, specialized in castilian customs themes and was a renowned portrait painter.
