the tafereelen van de staatsomwenteling in frankrijk are a dutch version of the historical tableaux of the french revolution. There are two editions: the first published in amsterdam appeared between 1794 and 1809; the second, not illustrated, was printed in zaltbommel in 1829. The main artists are: j. Bulthius who participated as a designer in the publication of the work until around 1800; reinier vinkeles who creates the engraved paintings and frontispieces of the tafereelen; finally daniel vrijdag, collaborator of vinkeles, is one of the artists responsible for the production. This engraving, a reduced copy of the 45th plate of the historical tables of the french revolution, illustrates the episode of the disappearance of parliament, that is to say, of the justice of the ancien régime and the development of the current judicial organization.
