In the foreground, the ruins of the old petit-bourbon hotel? in the middle of the ruins: a woman and her child accompanied by a man leaning on a block of stone. Above them and on each side, the remains of a balustrade and on the left, two ionic pillars surmounted by an entablature. In the background, an equestrian statue and in the background the colonnade of the louvre. On the back of the sheet, a sketch representing the peristyle of the louvre. In the foreground, on the left, an ancient column, on the right a balustrade, in the middle a pile of stone from which an equestrian statue emerges and in the background the monumental entrance to the louvre.
