Соборная площадь (Петрозаводск) 4, before 1919

Monument to alexander ii in petrozavodsk. Erected in 1885. Sculptor ivan schroeder. The statue was cast in bronze at the adolf morand plant in st. Petersburg, the pedestal is made of dark green tivdia marble according to the design of academician of architecture antoniy tomishko. The height of the monument is 8. 5 m. The emperor is depicted in a general's uniform with his head uncovered, in porphyry with a chain of the order of st. Andrew the first-called. In the emperor's right hand is a scroll with the inscription "february 19, 1861". On the pedestal is the inscription - "to the tsar-liberator - olonetskoye zemstvo. 1881". The monument was demolished in 1918 and melted down. Date: before 1919.
