This is the estuary between lympstone, a village on the eastern bank of the estuary of the river exe, and exmouth. Exmouth only really began to establish itself during the 18th century and was regarded as the oldest holiday resort in devon. A new train line from exeter to exmouth opened in 1861. Date: 30/08/1802.
