The lieutenant schmidt bridge, the first permanent bridge across the neva, was built in 1842-1850 according to the design of the russian engineer s. V. Kerbedz. In 1937-1938 the bridge was rebuilt according to the design of academician g. P. Peredery and architect l. A. Noskov.
