Image of a chronicler in the upper right corner of the "panel of the archishop" (fourth panel of the st. Vincent panels, c. 1450-1470, atributed to painter nuno gonçalves. Identification of the chronicler is uncertain and disputed. Most commonly believed to be gomes eanes de zurara (figueiredo 1910; markl, 1988; mnaa), although a recent controversial book (almeida and albuquerque, 2000) identifies him instead as fernão lopes.
