The experts at bruun rasmussen called this painting adskillige sejlskibe ud for helsingørs kyst (numerous sailing ships off the coast at elsinore). They might have been a bit more specific. The signal flags nkjt on the mainmast identify this vessel as the brig forsøget, built by augener & co. In grohn, north of bremen, germany in 1863. She was first called the tenke senior (or finke senior), but got a new name in 1869, when she was bought by j. F. Carøe and p. W. Wissing of copenhagen. In 1876 she was bought by c. J. Andersson of strömstad, sweden, and got the name forsöket (registration hnbl). She appeared again in 1897 as the hiørnhall, owned by g. W. Hammer of christiania, norway. Broken up in 1898. Mfs.
