Portrait of an artistic lady sitting in a garden, with what appears to be a portfolio-case on her lap, drawing a picture of a tree; subject not identified, but might be identifiable. French school, empire style, napoleonic era (n i); circa 1810. Unsigned, artist not (definitely) identified, dealer attribution to jean-jacques karpff (a. K. A. "kasimir") 1770-1829. Charcoal drawing on laid paper with matermarks; the drawing appears to have been cut down from its original size. Note that the paper was not cut on the square, & its shape is slightly irregular.
