Burial of tsarina anastasia in 1560. Miniature from the illustrated chronicle of the 16th century. And she was buried in the maiden monastery at the ascension of christ in the kremlin, at the frolovsky gate. She was the first russian tsarina of the muscovite state, and lived with the tsar and the grand duke for thirteen and a half years, and the tsar and the grand duke were survived by two sons: tsarevich ivan, seven years old, and tsarevich feodor, four years old. There were at her burial [macarius, metropolitan of all rus', and matthew, bishop of krutitsy, and archimandrites, and abbots, and the entire consecrated cathedral, with the tsar and the grand duke were his brother prince yuri vasilyevich and prince vladimir andreevich, and tsar alexander safa-kireyevich, boyars and nobles. And not only a multitude of people, but also all the poor and needy from the whole city came to the burial, not for alms, but with great weeping and wailing they accompanied her; and from the multitude of people in the streets they could hardly carry her body to the monastery. The tsar and the grand duke, from great lamentation and from the pity of their hearts, were barely able to carry her by the arms. ]. Date: 16th century.
