Portrait of marie antoinette (1755-1793). This painting is a not autograph replica of a portrait of marie-antoinette, queen of france, painted by élisabeth vigée le brun and exhibited for the first time at the 1783 salon de paris. Later marie-antoinette gave it as a present to her friend louise of hesse-darmstadt, grand duchess of hesse and by rhine; the original 1783 painting is still in possession of louise's heirs in wolfgarten castle (hesse, germany).
