scene from the sino-japanese war. This triptych, whose author is unknown, has the title in the title block at the top right (dai nippon to shinkoku to kaigun dai sensō). On the right, a large cannon appears on the bow of the japanese ship takachiho, a building which was no less than 91 meters long and had played, among other things, an important role in the battle of the yalu river on september 17, 1894. In the foreground, several launches transport japanese officers ready to attack the chinese ship cāojiāng, where the enemy forces are represented by only an insignificant number of soldiers.
