Inside the chapel of the Inquisition, Guillaume-Joseph Roques, 1822

The painting shows the interior of the chapel of the inquisition in the house of st. Dominic in toulouse in 1822. On the ceiling are scenes of the life of the saint. In 1860 the nuns had had a false ceiling of plaster put in place. The paintings were forgotten, until the early twentieth century when the painting of roques, painted in 1822, allowed to rediscover the original ceiling of moncornet painted in the seventeenth.
