Capture of the Water Tower in 1848, Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer, between 1875 and 1882

During the revolution of 1848, revolutionaries invaded the palais-royal, and completely destroyed the neighboring château d'eau. The municipal guards that defended the building were killed as well.
