Pitt, in uniform, as a soldier or volunteer, stands at attention in profile to the right, holding a bayoneted musket. He is grotesquely thin and elongated. Beneath the title: 'he would be a soldier the sweet willy o the first of all swains that gladden'd the plains all nature obeyed him - the sweet willy o!' 10 may 1798 hand-coloured etching.
