"Portrait of the Princess of Conti", Jacob Ferdinand Voet

"half-length portrait of the princess of conti, on a grey-green background. She poses three-quarters turned to the left, with her face slightly twisted towards the right. The light white dress with embroidered edges is contained in a rigid red bodice embellished on the chest with a diamond-shaped jewel brooch with a long oval pearl pendant. This jewel is inserted in the center of a refined border of precious stones that edges the upper and lower profile of the bodice. This, low to support the breasts, it is tied behind the neck with a ribbon. Two other ribbons with precious stones recalling the brooch on the bodice stop the wide sleeves of the white dress at the shoulders and elbows, leaving the arms exposed, stretched forward. Date: 17th century. Medium: oil on canvas. Collection: Masino Castle. Ritratto della principessa di Conti - Caravino
