Hms 'bellerophon' (1824) outside the grand harbour, malta inscribed: "h. M. S. Bellerophon". 'bellerophon' is shown in starboard broadside view, with her main and topgallant sails clew'd up, outside malta's grand harbour in fairly rough conditions. Fishermen on a rocky crag at bottom left act as a repoussoir. The background presents a detailed view of valletta.
