Commemorative handkerchief printed in honor of marshall bugeaud, the leading figure in the french conquest of algiers from 1841-1847. In the center a portrait of marshall bugeaud and four of his generals. In the corners are scenes from the battles. Printed in red and brown on white. Date: circa 1847. Dimensions: H x W: 72.4 × 85.7 cm (28 1/2 × 33 3/4 in.). Medium: cotton. Collection: Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
