iconographic description:
two richly dressed characters present themselves to a third wearing a uniform adorned with ribbons and medals. The lady is dressed in a dress, a heavy cape, clasps and jewelry, she is wearing a hat trimmed with feathers. His silhouette is human but his head is that of a turkey. On her left, the one who presents her to the duke wears a frock coat, a waistcoat and a sword at his side. Its head is that of a fish. The duke (his title is written on a missive placed on a table behind him) stands straight and haughty, he has the head of an owl. Extract from métamorphoses du jour (published by gustave havard libraire, paris, 1854): "in this theater of real comedy, the debutante is not an actress; she is a young girl, a child, whom it is a question of making a debut in life, as happily as possible. . . For her father. [. . . ] there will be a dowry, and the debutante's father will find something reasonable for himself in the wedding basket. "
