Poster to announce the publication of a serial novel in the newspaper "le petit méridional", in 1892, written by julien rambert, entitled marca-maou. The poster shows a bloody human skin. The plot of the novel is inspired by a true story and the tanned skin of pierre vitou, alias marca-mau / marca maou / marqua-maou, guillotined in montpellier in 1824 for parricide (he had poisoned his parents and his brother), was indeed exhibited at the museum of the faculty of medicine of montpellier in the 19th century.
