Louis Mayer - Tübingen vom Spitzberg (Stahlstich J Axmann) ca.1836 Inv.267 (SW054), Louis Mayer, circa 1836

Tübingen from spitzberg. In the foreground you can see two groups of winegrowers harvesting the grapes and pressing wine, as well as a group of six men celebrating. The view leads directly to the österberg, which is still completely undeveloped. The town is largely hidden behind hohentübingen castle. On the neckar you can see the eberhardsbrücke opposite the town and the hirschauer steg further ahead. Steel engraving print, 13. 1 × 22. 1 cm. Date: circa 1836.
