;the louis hébert monument in quebec in 1941
“on a warm sunny day, a lady and children cross the garden of the town hall. The little boy casts a curious look at the filmmaker and photographer herménégilde lavoie, who uses the cannon to direct the gaze towards the monument of louis hébert. Unveiled on september 3, 1918, the bronzes by montreal sculptor alfred laliberté commemorate the tercentenary of the arrival of louis hébert in 1617. Standing at the top of the monument, the man is accompanied by his wife, marie rollet, seated in the middle of his three children and his son-in-law, the land clearer guillaume couillard, in the shadows in the photo. Festoons, the coats of arms of the city, the province and guillaume couillard as well as a plaque bearing the names of the first 47 settlers of quebec decorate the pedestal. The dome of the commercial sciences pavilion has dominated the landscape since 1928. Built in the beaux-arts style, it connects the wings of sainte-anne and pierre-olivier-chauveau streets of the commercial academy founded by the brothers of the christian schools in 1862. The dome will be destroyed by the fire of 1961 and this garden will disappear in 1971. " – marc beaudoin, société historique de québec. Date: 1941.
