Poplar Street Bridge (NBY 435620)

Back of card, poplar street bridge; st. Louis carrying u. S. 50, 66, and int. 44, 55, across mississippi river opened 1968. The bridge is in harmony with eads bridge (1870) which set the style of long curves used in the bridge spans, styling culminated in the catenary curve design of the gateway arch. The downtown area has been further enhanced by (from l. ) pet milk building, stouffer's riverfront inn, gateway towers, and (beyond arch) the three-tiered mansion house complex. Unknown date
