DEU Broichweiden COA, Wolfgang Pagenstecher, 1935

„per fess, the chief per pale or above vert, a beaked gules eagle issuant sable and a langued gules lion rampant issuant sable; below an errected couped plane argent. “ the arms were granted in 1935. The arms show in the upper half the eagle of aachen and the lion of jülich, who is taken from the arms of the county, later duchy of jülich, as until the 13th century the municipality was part of the jülich county. The plane in the lower part symbolises the airport in merzbrück in the municipality. Date: 1935.
