Clericus,Masurenmond, Ludwig Clericus, 1851

"what does the moon care if the dog barks at it?" in response to accusations from a königsberg fraternity, ludwig clericus painted a watercolor in which the moon, wearing a masurian cap, looks down mockingly at two spitting figures, one of which, with a dog's head, wears the red-white-gold colors of the palmburgs (loch-lippold, festschrift zu masovia's 100th foundation festival, p. 78; fabricius: die deutschen corps, 1st ed. , p. 353). Date: 1851.
