Gateway & Memorial Garden, Cawnpore

Cawnpore (now known as kanpur) was the site of brutal fighting in the indian rebellion of 1857. The memorial garden (now known as nana rao park) is the site where about 200 british subjects, mostly women and children, were massacred here, their bodies dumped into the well located on this land.
