Depot of the national guard corps, a soldier picks up the pikes, monk, clear space, armed soldiers in a row. Baroque church, bell tower, gothic, spire, sculpted decorations, 17th century building facade. Crowd at their window, town hall with sign: “hotel / de / ville”. Historical commentary:
the bnf's copy of tafereelen van de staatsomwenteling in frankrijk (1794-1807) is published in amsterdam, j. Allart, 1795-1801, 2 vols. In-8º, in the 25 deliveries there are 25 frontispieces by vinkeles and vrydag, a77 figures by bulthuis, vinkeles and vrydag and 79 portraits by claessens and portman. Riot following a visit to a convent by the municipality on rogation day, the catholics provoked the national guard made up of protestant bourgeois.
