Print, satirical print, circa 1745

A satire on the foundling hospital with an emblem of a buck in an oval frame formed of a serpent with an apple in its mouth with adam and eve as supporters and a pair of horns as a crest. In the background to left, a view of the foundling hospital in front of which is the figure of fortune on her wheel. On the right, a procession of horned cuckolds is led by a horned clergyman to cuckold's point on the bank of the thames near rotherhithe. Etching and engraving. Date: circa 1745.
