The plan was drawn up after a new survey of berlin was completed in 1747 and is considered to be an extremely reliable source. The title is framed in a very artistic allegory by the engraver georg friedrich schmidt on the lower left sheet. According to jacoby, the map itself was engraved by friedrich gottlieb berger. Below the plan is a "prospect of the city of berlin from south to north" as well as three other views, which are missing in this original copy. Date: 1748.
